There comes a time in everyone’s life when you things just, well, feel off.
Maybe a relationship doesn’t seem to feel right anymore.
Maybe a job is too draining.
Maybe your constant need to diet just doesn’t “do” it for you anymore.
Life suddenly just feels too small.
Often times, we resist these changes because we are scared of what others might think, of what will happen if we follow our dreams, if we “give in” to our yearnings.
Often times, we hold ourselves stuck because it feels safe and secure.
With this feeling of “something needs to change” comes the need to let go of people, of friends, of situations.
Not always, but often.
With this feeling of “life just being too small” comes the desire to move on, to move up and maybe leave places, houses, even countries behind.
Not always, but it happens.
With this feeling of “I just cannot tolerate all this diet talk anymore” comes the passion for action, for removing fat shaming and weight loss talk from your life, your Facebook timeline, your Instagram feed.
Not always, but frequently.
And the with the decision of “I am done with dieting once and for all” comes the knowing that your life will eventually transform in all the best ways.
Change is never easy, but it’s the way of life.
Nothing is ever the same. Nothing is ever not changing.
The more we acknowledge that, let that truth sink in and then dive fully into the river of motion, the more we allow ourselves to live our lives.
The more we hold on to what was, what might have been and what we hated but felt secure in, the more we obviously self-destruct.
Where are you on this scale of evolution and transformation at the moment? Who are you resisting to let go of? What are you not doing because you’re scared of judgment, of how your friends, co-workers, parents might react?
We explore this topic deeply in this week’s episode of the Escape Diet Prison Podcast where we share our personal stories of letting go and moving up, how we struggled and ultimately made peace with the fact that sometimes you just have to leave some people, apps, Facebook stars behind in order to make peace with your body and live the life that you want to live.
