In this episode of the Escape Diet Prison Podcast, Leila and I share the challenges of taking great care of yourself, leaving diet prison, being a mom, building a business and ,well, having a life.
The truth is that self-care isn’t always the easy choice. When feeling overwhelmed, stressed or like life is throwing you one curveball after the other, it’s easy to put self-care on the back burner. It’s just as easy to go back to old destructive habits when life isn’t going as grand as you’d like.
And that is why self-care needs to be a priority, even if it’s just taking one mindful breath a day.
The more we practice self-care on a constant basis, the easier it is to then go back to those habits in rocky waters.
We also talk about the book The Sell, how eating disorders evolve, why it’s funny that mommy painted her face and how you can lift yourself up while breaking a part of yourself down.
Deb’s got a new blog called “We are more than good enough” and she’s been on a writing roll! Check it out here.
