Nice blog you have here, Anne-Sophie!
This was a great conversation. Julie mentioned that she did not come from a privileged family and I would like to stress that your family background does not matter, even though society makes such a big deal about it, and marrying into one is the goal in so many lives, for men and women. Well, to that I say BS, because those couples who are rich some of the time are not happy. Of course, they have money to make them look good despite their substance use and abuse which they do to get them through the day. This to me is not a good life. They are not genuine, living lies yet society praises them and puts them on a pedestal and such. Well, that just goes to show the level at which society is in right now.
Also, I find that those who did not grow up privileged made more of themselves that those who were. They were unafraid to get out there, meet people, do stuff, get experience and feel comfortable enough in themselves to go for things, way more than those who were over-protected, smothered hose parents helped them along the way. This is a fact.
So, we should never be ashamed of anything, nor fall victims to society’s dogmas, because most, if not all, are pretty meaningless.
Amen to that. It’s all about what you yourself make of your life. No matter where you come from, you can change your fate and there are many examples of people who have done so. And money never ever ever makes you happy. It’s what’s inside that counts. Also, every person has a different idea of what happiness means to them. So we should always keep that in mind. Thanks for the wonderful comment.
