Accepting and loving your body is a concept that’s foreign to most of us women.
I mean, for years, maybe even decades, we’ve hated upon our bodies, abused them by restricting or overeating, tormented them verbally and judged them more harshly than we’d ever judge a friend or even a complete stranger.
Our bodies endure so so much and yet, we never give them credit, we never feel as if they’ve endured enough.
Instead, we look in the mirror with hatred, disgust. We pinch into our stomach, we squeeze the fat on our thighs, we push up our boobs and we (aka I) often storm out of the bathroom, defeated, crying, desperate for change.
Dreaming of freedom. Yearning for peace.
You know it’s out there – somewhere. You want to catch it, but how do you begin?
You begin by believing that there is a different reality.
You begin by trusting that you can have a different perspective, a more loving way of looking at your body and finally feeling at home in your skin.
Then, you write.
Writing is one of the most healing and empowering tools out there, and it has brought me closer to my body many times.
Writing clears your mind, it reveals your true hungers and crushes the blockages that keep you from embracing your body – right here and right now.
So, today, I share my 25 favorite body-love journaling prompts with you. To write. To laugh. To cry. To listen. To try.
Even if you’ve never journaled or are afraid of what it might do to you. Give it a try and see what happens. You just might fall in love with your body. One word at a time.

these are good Anne…. I had to laugh as I read through them… right off the bat, number 5 stood out…. IF FAT COULD TALK< WHAT WOULD IT SAY….. well right now with the -37 degrees that we have been having which is NOT ohio weather…. EVER…it would have to say "you SO need more of me or you are going to freeze to death!" LOL I literally can not go outside….. and when I do have to go to the store… layers, layers , layers and then you RUN to the door… I went yesterday and I thought "wow, it isn't that cold…. or I was numb so fast I couldn't feel anything" our winds are 35 mph …. it strips away the heat from you so fast! so yes, that is what that one would say to me… I had to laugh! 🙂
There you go. Isn’t that the most perfect testimony to the necessity of fat? Write it down and remember it. 🙂
