I recently had the chance to sit down with David Kelly on The Great World Race podcast, where we unpacked my journey—going from battling eating disorders to becoming a marathon runner and life coach. Trust me, this is not the path I thought I’d be on a few years ago… or ever!

One of the big moments we got into was when I ran the New York City Marathon. I saw it on TV about 20 years ago, and the energy of people running through the streets of NYC just hit me. I had this crazy thought: I’m gonna do that one day. Back then, I was deep in my eating disorder, and the idea of training for and running a marathon seemed impossible. Fast-forward to 2022, and there I was, crossing that finish line. It wasn’t just a race; it was a reclaiming of my body after years of hating it.

Juggling Motherhood, Career, and Marathon Training

David and I also talked about the juggling act that is my life—being a mom, COO, and a runner. How do I balance it all? Honestly, I don’t. But I’ve found ways to prioritize and keep my sanity, and that usually involves a good dose of routine, nutrition, and making sure I take care of my mental health. I shared a few tricks that help me stay grounded when life feels like it’s coming at me from every angle.

And then, of course, we got into my next big adventure: the Great World Race. It’s a beast, but I’m all in, ready to see how far I can push myself. (Also, I am secretly peeing my pants asking myself: what have I gotten myself into?! 😅) If you want to hear the full chat, including how I manage this chaos, check out the on Youtube.
