I often get asked what my *secret* is; why I came such a long way and found my way back to loving my body and myself.
It’s impossible for me to answer this question. Over the years, I’ve been affected by so many factors, have taken so many steps, made so many different experiences and used so many different tools. I can’t single out one of them as my “click” moment, my turning point.
But there’s one thing that I believe made all the difference; one thing that separates many of us who love ourselves from those who don’t.
That one thing is quite simple actually; it may not always be easy though: it’s taking action.
It’s doing something, moving forward, looking inward, changing, transforming, evolving, but not standing still.
This is true for anything in life, isn’t it? If you always take in, read, learn, but never actually implement, you’re doomed to be stuck forever. However, if you decide to take one small step a day, you move forward and you begin to create your new, better, healthier, more loving reality.
When it comes to self-care and self-love, this is incredibly important. Yes, it would be nice if self-love would just appear at your door, but it’s not going to happen that way. You have to work on it, be active, proactive and learn to take care of yourself, relate to yourself in a new way, perceive your body in a different light and create experiences that you know will cradle you, console you, heal you.
The more you experiment and the more you take action, the more intuitive your self-care approach will become and the closer you will get to actually accepting yourself wholeheartedly.
So, this weekend, take action. Spend some time with yourself and take care of yourself. Do something that feels good to you and your body! Take the time for yourself and make a commitment that moving forward, you will honor your needs and respect yourself.
So much love! xxx
Simple but not easy – I think that’s true of many of the most important lessons and actions in life. We make it complicated because the hard work is scary. But worth it.
Yes, we do. Change is always scary, but as you say, it’s worth it. The more you lean into the fear the better; the more uncomfortable you feel, the more you’ll grow. And what a waste would life be if you didn’t grow and evolve?
