Do you want more love? More excitement, more fulfillment, more joy, more freedom, more happiness, more guidance and more LIFE?
Yes, you probably do. But for some reason, you feel silly, crazy, ungrateful even for having these dreams and thoughts.
Maybe someone in your family is making you feel that way. Maybe you tell yourself you’re too old, too young, too this or too that to deserve more and be allowed to dream of more.
The truth is though that whatever you’re telling yourself: it’s NOT silly to want more. It’s not silly to want your job to fulfill you. It’s not silly to want to love your body the way it is. It’s not crazy to want to like yourself and be at peace with your personality, your voice, your hair or your thighs. Most important of all, it’s not wrong to have dreams.
Wanting more doesn’t necessarily mean that you aren’t happy with what you already have. You can be blissfully in love with your shabby little half-room in Queens, but dream of an apartment in Manhattan. You can be completely at peace with your current job, but dream of making a real difference in this world, a bigger impact. You can adore your children and your husband, but feel that a part of you, your creative, artistic part, needs to shine as well.
So you see that wanting more doesn’t equate being ungrateful for what you already have. It just means that you know there’s more for you to do: more people to serve, more faces to brighten, more money to earn, more shoes to buy, maybe even more lives to save.
Does going after your dreams mean you’ll automatically achieve them?
Nope. You can and will still fail and fall on your nose more often than not. You can and will still stumble, but at least, you’ll have tried. That’s what counts. That’s what matters. That’s what changes this world and that’s what life is often about.
By actively trying to reach a heartfelt goal of yours, you create a chemical imbalance in your brain that engages your mind and instantly makes you a happy or happier girl. The cool thing is that the outcome really doesn’t matter: it’s literally all about the journey.
So, be true to yourself and if you really want more, then go and get it. No more excuses, no more guilty feelings, no more fear.
Remember we only have one life to live and it’s quite short. So, live the heck out of your life and ENJOY the ride.
Do you feel silly for having a big dream? Do you feel stupid for wanting more in your job, in your relationship, in the way you see and relate to yourself? Talk about it in the comment section. I’d love to hear from you!
