How honest are you with yourself?
Do you always pretend that you’re “cool”, “just fine” and “super positive” while you’re secretly falling apart?
Being true to your feelings and realizing that emotions, positive or negative, serve your overall wellbeing is an essential step in getting to know yourself.
The more you try to hide your true feelings from yourself, the more frustrated, angry and sad you’ll be.
I just moved to NYC to make my dream of living and working in the US a reality. I’ve been dreaming of this step for years and as excited as I am, I am also terrified.
However, instead of hiding my feelings from myself, I’m confident in saying that I’m afraid. I’m fine with crying and being vulnerable. Because you know what? The more honest I am with myself the better I feel and the more powerful I can go about creating my life.
I’d like to encourage you to be bold and admit to yourself that you’re angry, scared, lonely or even eternally happy. Feel your emotions and give them the space they deserve.
In the comment section, share your experience with hiding your emotions from yourself and the consequences this form of self-denial had on your life.
