Feeling fat today?
Fatter than usual?
You feel awful and can’t stop blaming your body for looking the way it looks?
Well, here’s the thing: while we all struggle with “fat” days, this feeling actually has very little to do with our bodies or our food choices.
Why is that?
Well, at one point in your life, you’ve learnt to deal with your emotions in a very, very destructive way: aka. avoid them by deciding to feel fat.
Obviously, this happened on a subconscious level and may have served you in the past, but it does nothing but hurt you in the present.
Can you turn it around?
Hell, yeah!
It may take some time and willingness to learn and surrender, but you can absolutely break free from this vicious cycle of not wanting to feel real emotions and instead feeling fat and uncomfortable in your body.
Here’s how you do it:
Every time, you notice that you’re feeling unusually fat, dig deep, ask yourself lots of questions or journal and find out what you’re really feeling right now, what’s really going on in your life.
You may be experiencing troubles at work or excitement about a new friendship.
You may feel insecure about your art because of a negative comment or you may be looking forward to seeing your sister again.
You see that the emotions you’re trying to avoid can be negative and positive, good and bad.
The more often you become aware of what is actually going on the more open you’ll be to resolving the true issues and letting your true feelings come to you, wash over you.
Emotions are part of life and the more willing you are to accept them and welcome them, the less you will feel fat.
Remember: Fat is not a feeling and your body is never to blame.
So, from now on, give your body a break and instead focus on what’s really going on inside.
