As a parent, most of your decisions prioritize your child, right?
It’s not a sacrifice we make; it’s just how things are once you become a mom or dad.
Around seven years ago, I made a major decision to move back home in order to be closer to my parents. This decision was motivated by my need for childcare and my desire to create a loving environment for my son while I was earning the money needed to support the two of us.
Initially, living close to family felt right and safe. We had great times, my dad being immensely proud of his first grandchild and my mom being an essential part of Johann’s upbringing. However, as time went on, the toxic nature of my own childhood resurfaced, especially during the loooooong months and eventually years of COVID.
I had made peace with most of the events in my childhood, but there were (and still are) pieces that need resolution, healing, time, and space. The environment I lived in, no matter how beautiful or how much sense it made, was no longer suitable for my well-being.
I tried to deny it.
Tried to push it away.
Tried to be patient.
I did everything in my power to optimize my living space, having hundreds of hours of coaching, investing in feng-shui, and energy work.
Nothing worked.
I often felt trapped in my past beliefs and patterns and clung to a situation that no longer served me, waiting for the right time to move.
Until I hit a breaking point.
Until the Universe showed me that, nope, you can’t wait much longer, you can’t listen to your own limiting beliefs, you need to act now. Now’s the time to create the change your body needs.
That’s what this episode of Boldly Magnificent is all about.
In this episode, I talk about:
- finding peace within complex family dynamics and breaking toxic cycles
- uncovering the courage to create a better life for yourself even if it doesn’t make sense at first
- recognizing limiting beliefs and how you can thrive even if you fear losing a sense of stability
- prioritizing your own well-being over the well-being of those who play only a marginal role in your life
- living with the guilt of never being enough
- finding your own strength
- and so much more
