Breathing.
We all do it. We have to. So, why should we devote a special day to it in this challenge?
Well, even though we breathe automatically, we often don’t notice how shallow our breathing really is, especially when we’re stressed, anxious and simply disconnected from our bodies.
However, it is proven that by breathing more mindfully, you’re not only going to feel more grounded (which does wonders to your wandering mind scheming the next diet or worrying about not having the perfect butt), but you’re also going to rid yourself of stress, unnecessary worries and sorrows and you’re going to boost your body-confidence in a matter of seconds.
Really?
Yes!
Think about it, when you don’t breathe deeply, you don’t give your body all the oxygen it requires and thus, you can’t feel deeply connected to it. And truly feeling your body is essential when you yearn to rock your body and simply want to feel sexy and hot in your skin.
As most of you know, I am 8 months pregnant and breathing – all you moms know it, right? – is oh so hard. Seriously, I’d give anything to be able to take a full, deep breath right now and feel the oxygen flow through every pore of my body.
But since I can’t, I often feel achy, grumpy and simply uncomfortable in the skin I’m in. Of course, this is part of the late stages of pregnancy, but still, my – let’s just say – “limited” ability to breathe fully plays a huge part in making me feel the way I feel: moody and somehow stuck.
Which brings us to today’s challenge: Breathe Peace!
Step #1:
Become aware of your breathing and treat yourself to a few moments of silence. Take a deep, long breath and feel the air going into your belly, notice it expand and then slowly breathe out all the bad feelings, all the stress, all the blockages to body-acceptance your storing inside.
Keep it up for as long as you like, need and desire and you’ll see that you’ll feel sexier, stronger and more powerful inside.
Do this at least 3 times today and then continue this practice for the rest of your life!
Step #2:
Go a step further if you like and stand up straight, pull your shoulders back and hold your head high – see how your self-confidence soars by making this tiny little change in your posture. Set a timer for yourself to adjust your posture at least 3 times a day – it’ll do wonders for your career, your sex life, your relationships and your body-confidence!
Step #3:
SHARE YOUR MAKEOVER SUCCESS!
I want you to report your actions in the comments or on social media…tag it on facebook, twitter and instagram (use the #10BCM).
How did it feel to give yourself a few moments of silence to focus on your breathing? How has the change in your posture affected your body-confidence level? How do you feel now after a day of being more aware of your body overall?
Have fun today and stay tuned for tomorrow’s 10-Day Body Confidence Makeover challenge!
Big hugs and love,
