It’s time to break up with your body loather story.
It’s time to just leave it behind.
Walk away.
Without ever looking back.
It’s time to break up with your “I’ll miss out” story.
Your “I’ll never have what I want” tale.
It’s time to stop looking at others and hating on yourself for not having what they have.
It’s time to break up with your poor old story.
The story that doesn’t serve you any longer.
The story that keeps you locked up in body prison and self-hatred.
It’s time to let
it
go.
It’ll hurt – of course –
after all, you love that story.
You are surviving on that story.
You are cradling it,
have been fondling it for decades.
It’s you, that story.
Or at least it feels like it.
But is it really?
Do you want it to be?
If you could wish for a different story, would you?
Or would you want to stay stuck in this one?
The one that hurts so so much.
The one that suffocates your every dream,
your every spark of freedom?
Make that wish, right now.
Close your eyes
and think of the story you’d want instead.
Do you see it?
Can you feel it?
What does it look like?
What are the colors?
The pieces of the universe?
See it in detail and then
turn your back to the body loather story.
You, my love,
are not a body loather.
You are pretending to be, yes.
But it’s not your essence.
It’s not who
you
are.
You were born to love your body.
You were born to respect yourself.
You were born to thrive in this wonderful body you were given,
treat her with care,
treat her with compassion,
treat her right!
And instead,
you were taught to hate on her.
To despise every ounce of fat
every roll
every imperfection.
And instead,
you were taught to be ashamed
to hide
to wish away the being that you are.
And instead,
you were taught to give away your magnificence
to treat your body with disgust
and despair.
But, darling,
that’s not you.
No, that’s not how you were born.
That’s not what you’re meant to do,
how you’re meant to feel,
how you’re meant to walk on this planet.
No, darling,
you are not a body loather.
You care so deeply for the skin you’re in.
You care so deeply for the body that you were given.
You care so deeply for every stretch mark,
every part of lose skin,
every wrinkle
and every “flaw”.
You care.
You’re scared.
Are you?
It’s OK.
We all are.
Or were.
And you can still walk away.
Say “see ya” to the feelings of disgust
and move towards peace,
love,
freedom.
The freedom you so fucking deserve.
The freedom you so fucking crave.
The freedom you have so fucking earned.
And yes, people will judge.
And yes, people will look.
And yes, people will not understand.
But you will know –
who you are
what your body deserves
how you’re going to live your one and only life.
You will treat your body with respect.
You will listen to her.
Communicate with her all the time.
Love on her.
Love on yourself.
And you will see your life transform
into the magic that’s always been there –
covered by the terror of not being “right”.
But, sweetheart,
you are “right”.
You have always been “right”.
You are so “right” there’s no more “right” to be there.
And yes,
you will still have to un-learn,
to un-believe,
to heal.
Doesn’t make you wrong though.
Do you hear me?
You are “right”.
Have always been “right”.
Will always be “right”.
No matter what they might say
No matter what they might think
No matter what you may have been taught
You are right.
And yet, it’s time to walk away from your body loather story
and choose the story that will guide you to the next level
to the core of who you are.
You won’t miss out.
You won’t get the raw deal.
You never go that in the first place.
No, you will finally live.
You will finally liberate your soul.
Your body.
And your freaking mind.
You will step into the crazy you are.
Without the shame that’s been keeping you locked in your room
crying every day
eating your feelings
hating on your every cell.
You will finally be coming for yourself.
You will finally save yourself.
And you’ll realize that the story,
the story you held onto so tightly,
was bullshit all along.
Just imagine how amazing that’ll feel.
Just imagine: you being free IN your body.
You feeling PROUD of YOUR body.
You being head over heals in love with your body.
Now, that doesn’t mean that you’ll always think your body is drop dead gorgeous (but more often that not, you will!).
It’ll mean that you’ll LOVE your body.
Respect her.
Care for her.
Just imagine how phenomenal that’ll be.
You waking up in the morning without weighing yourself.
You eating what you want when you want without
fear, shame or guilt.
You being able to stop when you’ve had enough
knowing that you’ll never have to diet again.
Just imagine how much you will love your life.
Finally!
After all the misery.
All the pain.
All the self-taught despair.
Just imagine you being who you were always meant to be.
So, are you willing to break it off once and for all?
To walk away?
To turn your back to the tale you’ve based your life on?
Are you willing to see things differently?
To see yourself for who you really are?
To step into peace?
Power?
Approval?
Even awe?
I hope you are –
if you don’t,
you’ll waste that one and only life you were given.
You’ll stubbornly deny yourself the opportunity to
learn the lessons you came here to learn.
You’ll stubbornly hold yourself to the ground,
stepping onto your treasures
your soul’s purpose.
If you can’t find the silver lining just yet,
trust that’ll be here.
It IS here.
Right around the corner, in fact.
It all depends on you taking the first steps.
Taking that deep, long breath
and opening yourself up to be enamored with yourself,
to finally see all of you.
It all depends on your willingness to say “Bye boy”
and never ever look back.
You are not a body loather.
You are not a thing to be fixed.
You are not wrong.
You never were.
You are the one who is going to brush off your feathers
rise
and soar like never before.
I’m excited to see where you’ll end up.
Who you’ll be.
And how very, very much you’ll honor your body, true hungers
and purpose.
